My name is Claire James Grant; I am a sophomore studying American Studies, History, and Global Engagement at Wesleyan University. I am also a fluent French speaker. I became a Global Engagement Minor to expand my worldview and learn about different cultures. Since starting the Introduction Global Engagement course, I have become more aware of how my position as a college-educated white American affects my everyday decisions and discussions with not only international folks but everyone I meet. I hope to continue to grow my understanding of the effects of my privilege during future CGST courses, my time abroad, and through the study of history.
